"I just want to reinforce the instruction to use outside mounting and add 1.5 inches on either side for room darkening. I didn't see the instructions when I ordered and I measured for inside mounting. There is a significant gap (probably 1.5 inches) on either side of the shade that lets light in. You can sort of see this from the picture, but I didn't realize."

"Goodbye mini blinds!!! These shades are the BEST! I have struggled with cleaning mini blinds for years, and I am absolutely pleased with these shades! They definately keep the warm sun out and are an attractive addition to any window! They also keep the kitties out of the window sills!"

"We LOVE these shades! Our home is in the desert, so we are always looking for some way to tame the sun - especially as summer approaches. We've tried blinds, shutters, drapes, you name it. But nothing has worked as well as these shades. They look nice. They roll easily. They are a snap to wipe clean. But our biggest surprize is their effectiveness at blocking the desert's brutal, blazing sun. They REALLY work! And, as an added bonus, they also shield us from the cold nights ( which can be 40 - 50 degrees colder than the days' highs.) What an energy saver!
Oh, and for those who, like us, enjoy sleeping in on occasion, these shades absolutely block the light. Sweet!"

"I really like these better than mini blinds. I found these to hold dust less and the windows seem to look cleaner. I like the look it gives my windows also as this is an older home. I figured with the event of mini blinds these shades had been phased out. When I found these I was pleasantly surprised. They are really easy to install too. I didnt read all the directions for figuring out what size that always confuses me. :) I measured my windows and ordered they all fit anyway. if you are doing an inside window mount I would be more careful. All my windows had outside window mount holes so I stuck with the original outside mount. The light blocking feature is fantastic. They are great and look great. I have seen some efforts to block light and all I can say is it usually looks tacky. These do not. Love my Window Shades and I do not think I will ever go back to washing Mini Blinds. I hate that and I hate dust. This one gets a 5 star from me."
