"The differences between this blanket and one just like it I bought years ago at a department store are trivial, and not worth the difference, considering the distinctly better price you get from Blair. It is true; this type of blanket does not pill or mat, it is so velvety soft, and very durable. It doesn't show age; it always looks really nice! I bought this one to layer on top of my older flocked blanket for extra warmth in winter. I love the versatility of being able to use 2 flocked blankets together, or just one as the season changes. I had gotten tired of taking my king-sized comforter to wash and dry in the large capacity machines at a laundromat, or else paying the hefty dry cleaning expenses. I can just pop a king-sized flocked blanket into my home washer and it comes out great! In the dryer, it's best to reposition it about every 20 minutes, so it doesn't fold in on itself and leave any damp spots. But that's true of any blanket you would tumble dry. Now I will just look for a bed spread I like, and I'll be all set. No more bulky comforters for me!"

"Previously I had purchased a similar queen blanket for $60 which we used with our comforter during the winter months. The comforter became too heavy so I purchased a second navy queen blanket from Blair (on sale for about $20). Since these blankets are so light the weight of two is negligible, while providing the same amount of warmth as a comforter! The blanket remains soft after several washings and has retained its shape and loft. I purchased one of Blair's blankets for my son-in-law who fell in love with it while visiting - I highly recommend this blanket!"
